Virtual Pride Hikes: Planting Pride

  • 17 May 2020
  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
  • Zoom

We're shifting Pride Hikes to a monthly virtual format. Since we can't get together outside for our monthly Pride Hikes for now, we're creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ community members to come together online. This is a time to share our stories about our connections with nature outside our doorsteps, check in with each other, and learn a little about birds and botany.

This month we will virtually revisit Oakledge Park, the site of last year's Planting Pride event. The bird-friendly native trees and shrubs planted last year are restoring the wetlands at Oakledge, helping provide climate resilience, and increasing the urban tree canopy. Your Virtual Pride-Hike co-hosts this month: Gwendolyn Causer (she/her) - Audubon Vermont, Teacher/Naturalist Debbie Archer (she/her) - Audubon Vermont, Education Program Coordinator Pride Hikes are a collaboration between Audubon Vermont, the Pride Center of Vermont, and Outright Vermont. Pride Hikes have been happening every month since June of 2018 and go beyond being "welcoming to everyone" to creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ community members. All ages, allies, and families welcome!
