Workshop description: LGBTQIA2S+ Identities: What do those letters mean, and more importantly, what do they mean for how you show up for your students? This workshop will explore the past, present, and future of LGBTQ2S+ communities. Educators will leave this session with an expanded understanding of inclusivity and the importance of gender and sexuality in learning.
Presenter bio: Andy Dettinger (they/them) is a white, queer, fat, non-binary sexual health educator with the My Future- My Choice program. They have been working in sexual health for 8 years in Southern California, the Bay Area, and currently Oregon. They received bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Conservation Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020. In their free time, Andy loves searching the trails near their home for frogs, snakes, and other wild critters.
