Co-hosted by Audubon Vermont, Pride Center of Vermont, and North Branch Nature Center
LGBTQIA2S+ hikers are invited for a leisurely summer walk at North Branch Nature Center this July! We will hike a short distance of about 1.2 miles, including NBNC’s Universally Accessible trail (0.3 miles). After our hike we will spend time lounging by and swimming in the North Branch of the Winooski River! Light refreshments will be provided by Audubon Vermont. Please be sure to bring a swimsuit and towel if you do plan on dipping into the river! There will be no lifeguard so swimming is at your own risk.
Although this is an affinity space for the queer community, we welcome allies of all ages! Participants under 18 should be accompanied by an adult. No dogs this time, please.
The trails are mostly wide and flat. For more information and to view the trail network, visit NBNC’s wonderfully detailed trail map page: https://northbranchnaturecenter.org/trailmap/
Trail surface: Compacted crushed stone as well as compacted dirt. However, trail surface varies when wet.
Accessibility: Participants using wheelchairs, mobility equipment, or strollers may need all-terrain tires or adaptive/motorized equipment for the surface type and grade after the 0.3 miles of Universally Accessible trail.
Registration is required. https://vt.audubon.org/events/pride-hikes-north-branch-nature-center
